The best way to retard silver and delay it from coming back is to use silver polish.  Here at JB Marsh Designs, we use Weiman Silver Polish.  To use it, follow these steps:

1) Put a small amount of silver polish on a clean cloth or soft makeup brush, dampened if necessary.

2) Clean the item softly.

3) If you are using a cloth, turn it frequently as you work so tarnish isn't deposited back on your item.

4) Rinse in warm water and pat dry with a clean, soft, dry cloth.

Don't be afraid to wear your silver.  Friction slows down the tarnishing so the more you wear it, the more it will shine!
